Water Line Survey

Under EPA Lead and Copper Rule regulations, the City of New Castle Water Department is required to identify the service line pipe material for every customer connection in our system. Identifying lead lines helps ensure drinking water safety across all residential and commercial properties.
How You Can Help:

• Inspect Your Line: Check where the main water line enters your home or business (typically near the water meter or main shut-off valve).
• Identify the Pipe Material: Determine if your line is copper, lead, galvanized steel, or plastic (PEX/PVC).
• Submit Your Survey: Select your pipe material using the form below, or drop a physical copy off at the Utility Office drop box (located next to the Drive-Thru window).

Note: Any unidentified service lines must be reported to the State of Indiana as unknown/lead lines requiring future replacement. Please help us verify your lines to protect your household and ensure our system remains lead-free.
